The Palimpsest House
An award winning home in both the Supreme award and Residential award at the NZ interior awards after a incredible collaborative effort in 2024 and 2025.
This house sits quietly proud in the dunes in Te Arai with architecture and interiors perfectly designed by Monk Mackenzie Architects..
'The house resides under one vast horizontal square roof plane, both indoor and outdoor spaces camly contain and frame views of the incredible landscape.' It appears to hover above the building platform.
Build by a tight team from Hicks Construction in collaboration with our trusted subcontractors this house deserves all the recognition.
