The Adlington House

A 100+ year old, large cottage nestled in the picturesque Adelaide Hills town of Hahndorf was given a new lease on life by new homeowners ‘The Adlingtons’.

After purchasing the gorgeous homestead they approached long time friend and architect John Ashcroft, director of Beyond Ink Design to handle the architectural design of the project which was to be an extensive renovation and large contemporary extension to the existing structure.

The project spanned 2 years of planning, designing and building to become it’s final form we now see today: A stunning luxury family home to be enjoyed by the Adlington’s for many years to come.

The main brick chosen for this bespoke, luxury home was BLUSH from Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers.

Part of the hand-crafted Sincero Design Series brick range which -like all Littlehampton products- are 100% Australian Made Bricks Blush is a Littlehampton Original product produced using our unique traditional production methods and in-house custom made machinery.

Blush is produced in such a way that no 2 bricks are exactly alike, meaning that not only the range itself, but every single brick tells it’s own story.

The project film for the Adlington house is a series of interviews we conducted close to the end stage of building.

We interviewed the homeowner/client (Val Adlington), the designer (Lindy Miller, BeyondInk Design) and the master builder (Neil Scholz, Scholz Constructions).

They gave their opinions and thoughts about the project as a whole, the ups, downs, challenges, results and -of course- what they think of Littlehampton’s BLUSH BRICK!
