This lightweight beach house was designed as a weekender for a city based family. The site is 100m from the beach and faces west over a tea tree coloured creek. The local council required the building to be able to be removed by four wheel drive within 12 hours of the sea reaching 50m from the property boundary.

This requirement dictated small building pods that can be relocated. To increase the external useable area a series of fabric roof structures were designed to float above the light weight buildings. Extensive timber decking provided links between the building pods as well as a large central outdoor living space.
