By Glascott Landscape & Civil
In the early 1920s, bushland on Sydney Harbour was converted into a coal loading facility. Fast forward to the early 1990s, the site was decommissioned and in 2003 North Sydney Council started working towards transforming the disused industrial site into a sustainability centre and public open space.
Glascott delivered two stages of the development including the final Greenroof project which saw extensive structural rehabilitation work, restoration of heritage elements, installing sustainable technology and services, and hard and soft landscaping. Completing a full circle, the site is now an innovative and award-winning public park and entertainment venue.

OUR STORY
Small beginnings and big dreams. That’s how our founder Matthew Glascott started The Glascott Group. His vision for the business was a reflection of his love of the land.
Matthew comes from a long line of farmers and graziers. His country-born and bred parents instilled in him a passion for plants, trees, and responsible management of the land.
Matthew’s dad, Joseph Glascott, was the first Environment Writer for Sydney Morning Herald and reported on Australia’s biggest environmental issues in the 1970s & 1980s.
Matthew is passionate about the environment and dedicated to his vision of creating quality open spaces that leave a lasting legacy.
