Emerge Aotearoa Housing offers quality social housing to families and individuals on a low income that cannot otherwise afford suitable accommodation.

The 14 units are currently being tenanted, with all tenants coming from the Housing Register and eligible for income-related housing support. This development will provide warm and safe homes for the people who are moving in and helps them move out of transitional housing.

Designed by TOA Architects, and built by Signature Homes, the Kimpton Road project is a modernisation of Emerges’ existing property portfolio with the demolition of the existing 1950’s flats and replacing with 14 purpose built one-bedroom units.

Each of the one-bedroom units are 50m2. Three of the ground floor units have been designed to be accessible for disabled people and feature modified kitchens with accessible appliances, bathrooms and living spaces. All units have either a courtyard or balcony, as well as heat pumps.

Local Tainui kaumatua through Toimai Katipa and Mere Komene, have gifted the name Toitoi Manawa to the development, which means flourishing abundance.
