Among the Trees

An exquisitely crafted yet practical, all year round, outdoor entertaining space Designed to blur the boundaries between indoors and out, this elevated deck extension creates a place for gathering, entertaining and slowing down amidst the surrounding landscape. The brief was simple: to create an outdoor space that could be enjoyed throughout the year while strengthening the home's connection to its natural setting. An extended deck and expansive bifold windows establish a seamless transition between inside and out, allowing natural light and fresh air to become an integral part of everyday living. A custom automated louvred roof, paired with discreet mesh weather screens, provides protection from the elements without compromising the openness of the space. The result is an outdoor room that adapts effortlessly to changing seasons and weather conditions, ensuring comfort throughout the year. Whether shared over an evening drink with friends or enjoyed in quiet solitude beneath the canopy of trees, this space has become a natural extension of the home, one that encourages connection, conversation and a deeper appreciation for the environment that surrounds it. Thoughtfully designed and quietly functional, it is a reminder that the most memorable spaces are often those that allow us to feel most connected … to our homes, to nature and to each other.
