ABOUT THE PROJECT
Infrastructure and Facilities Services is a complete workplace refurbishment project undertaken for The University of Newcastle, located on their Callaghan Campus. The design brief was to break down the physical barriers between not only previously separated business departments, but also remove divisions between management and staff, offering a complete open plan work environment in which to work.
The project has been designed to be staged, to ensure continuity of business activities during construction, reducing the need for relocation or disruption of work. Opening up the workplace meant that private meeting spaces and quiet rooms were interspersed throughout to allow privacy when required. Each workstation incorporated electric controlled height adjustment for sit/stand configurations to suit individual workspace needs. Infrastructure and Facilities Services has now formed the generic workplace model used throughout The University of Newcastle in a number of faculties and schools.
As a team of architects, designers and project managers with local knowledge and international experience, we are constantly putting our skills to the test to create outstanding design solutions for our clients across the multi-residential, workplace, education, health, retail, community, residential, industrial and hospitality sectors.
Architecture is expressive, innovative and creative, but it’s also about solving problems and overcoming limits. Our team challenge the status quo, elevate clients’ missions, and seek to measurably improve lives and communities.
