Perini Tiles is proud to have supplied the tile surfaces for Wellbeing Elements by Curious By Design — a contemporary, purpose‑built wellness destination on Phillip Island completed in 2025. Designed around a holistic approach to restoration, the space features hot and cold and ice pools, saunas, and revitalising shower zones, all unified by a calm, modern material palette.
Our carefully curated tile selections elevate both the aesthetic and functional performance of the centre. Durable, low‑maintenance, and beautifully refined, these surfaces support the project’s focus on longevity, hygiene, and sensory experience. This collaboration reflects our commitment to delivering sophisticated, design‑forward solutions that enhance environments dedicated to connection, recovery, and wellbeing.

The tile selection for Wellbeing Elements plays a central role in shaping the project’s restorative atmosphere. Chosen for their calming blue-green palette and subtle tonal variation, these porcelain tiles introduce a sense of depth and tranquillity that aligns seamlessly with the centre’s wellness philosophy. The colour story evokes water, coolness, and clarity — qualities that support the sensory experience of hot‑cold therapy and encourage a slower, more mindful pace within the space.
The curved shower forms introduce a sculptural softness to the space, creating an enveloping sense of calm that aligns with the project’s wellness‑driven intent. These shapes are made possible by the chosen tile format, allowing the walls to bend and flow organically rather than sit as rigid planes. The glossy blue surfaces amplify this effect, catching natural light from above and scattering it across the curves in shifting reflections. As the day progresses, the tiles play with shadow and highlight, giving the space a gentle, ever‑changing rhythm.
The cool blue tones, paired with surrounding greenery, create a balanced palette that feels both refreshing and grounded. This interplay of colour and texture supports a sensory experience that is soothing without being static. Together, the tiles, light, and architectural form work in harmony to cultivate a space that feels restorative, immersive, and deeply connected to the principles of contemporary wellbeing.
The Wellbeing Elements centre is designed as a flowing sequence of environments, each contributing a different expression of balance and restoration. The cool, light‑responsive tiles in the shower zones introduce a sense of clarity and movement, echoing the fluidity of the water‑based experiences nearby. Their vertical rhythm and gentle reflections create a visual continuity that guides visitors through the space without repetition.
As the journey shifts toward the warmer thermal rooms, the palette deepens into earthy, grounding tones. Curved, fully tiled forms create a sense of enclosure and warmth, offering a counterpoint to the openness of the cooler zones. These transitions — from gloss to matte, from blue to terracotta, from fluid to cocooning — mirror the natural interplay between water and earth.
Together, the spaces form a cohesive wellness narrative, where light, shadow, colour, and materiality work in harmony to support a deeper connection to self and nature.
