Colonial-style sanctuary completed in 2024, featuring elegant cornicing, cool green tones, and luxurious natural fabrics, inspired by Osbourne House, blending classic design with modern comfort.
The clients wanted a sanctuary, a bedroom befitting this graceful home. We explored installing elaborate cornicing and ceiling detail, in keeping with the Italianate style of the home. Westoe is said to be modelled on Osbourne House, Queen Victoria and Albert's retreat on the Isle of Wight. I've used cool greens here, and strong textures, classic Sanderson curtaining, teamed with a Cole & Sons wallpaper. All beautifully contrasting with the dark timbers and grand scale of the room. The fabrics are naturel fibers, including linen, a herringbone woolen headboard and a woolen plaid teamed with Tasman leather on the stately Montreux armchairs
