Embrace the outdoors

BUILT TO BLEND IN

Based on Landmark Homes Taupō’s beautiful Kinloch Showhome, the architecture draws inspiration from the environment, ensuring the home feels like a natural extension of the landscape. Its modern exterior features vertical board and batten cladding and a sleek, flat roofline.

Spanning a generous 242m² floor area, the layout connects intimately with the outdoors through three distinct alfresco living spaces, allowing you to enjoy nature year-round.

“The design is all about simplicity and elegance,” says Steven. “We wanted to create a versatile but beautiful Ready to Build plan that could go on just about any site, whether it’s south-facing, north-facing, in a rural setting, or overlooking water views.”

The U-shaped layout adds to the home’s practical appeal creating a central atrium that connects indoor and outdoor spaces. This design maximises natural light while offering a sheltered, private space to sit outside. Two additional outdoor areas allow the homeowners to enjoy the sun throughout the day, providing optional spaces for enjoying fresh air and relaxing outside.

FUNCTIONAL ELEGANCE

The interior showcases masterful minimalism, with an open-plan living area at its heart. Every detail has been carefully considered to create interior spaces that are beautiful and that connect to the outdoors. Large windows and glass doors throughout flood the space with natural light and provide uninterrupted views. An attractive vertical black timber slat screen provides privacy without sacrificing openness.

“We’ve focused on quality materials and craftsmanship to ensure the home feels both luxurious and welcoming,” Steven says.

The living area is all about togetherness, making it easy for families and friends to gather and enjoy quality time. The plan also offers the flexibility to adapt the design to add a second living area, providing space away from the central living area without compromising the openness of the main space.

Privacy and practicality are also key features of the Kinloch plan. The master bedroom enjoys its own separate wing and includes a generously sized ensuite and a walk-in wardrobe. Large sliders lead out to a private patio, enhancing the connection to the outdoors.

The luxurious kitchen, equipped with high-end Fisher & Paykel appliances, features stone countertops and dark woodgrain cabinetry. The design approach favours clean lines and uncluttered spaces. A spacious scullery flows through to the laundry, keeping the functional aspects of kitchen work out of sight but easily accessible.

The lighting is thoughtfully minimalistic too, enhancing the sleek look while providing plenty of illumination for culinary creativity. This approach ensures the kitchen is not just a place for cooking, but a central hub for family life and entertainment.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

The Kinloch stands out for its adaptability, not only for different sites and orientations but for the ability to alter the floor plan to suit. The design invites homeowners to create spaces that reflect their individual needs and tastes, highlighting Landmark's commitment to crafting homes that grow and evolve with their occupants.

“For example, the portico can easily be converted into an additional living area, providing even more space for families to enjoy,” says Steven. “The roofline can also be modified to suit different aesthetic preferences, such as changing to a mono-pitch roof for a more contemporary look.”
