Commercial bathrooms rarely arrive in neat, standard dimensions.

Existing waste locations, unusual wall lengths, multiple users, tapware positions, joinery and accessibility requirements can all influence the design long before the basin is selected. Yet specifying an off-the-shelf product can force architects and designers to reshape the room around fixed dimensions and configurations.

Stonebaths’ best-selling Ramp Basin Collection had already established a highly customisable solution for commercial bathroom spaces, but not every project called for a communal ramp basin. Increasingly, designers were looking for the same flexibility with individual bowls and a softer, more residential level of refinement.

Formline was developed as the alternative.

The collection expands the commercial offering beyond ramp-style basins with a broad selection of integrated bowl shapes, including rounded, oval and more angular geometric forms. Different edge and apron profiles allow the overall basin to shift from fine and minimal to more substantial and architectural.

Rather than beginning with a fixed basin and trying to make it fit the room, Formline allows the basin to be configured around the project.

The collection is manufactured from premium solid surface, with seamless, non-porous construction and a durable, stain-resistant finish suitable for residential and high-use commercial applications, wall-hung, on top of a vanity or on a custom cabinet.

Its real point of difference, however, is the scope of customisation.

Using Stonebaths’ Q Builder, designers can select from established Formline basin profiles and then adjust the overall size and configuration. Single or multiple bowls can be positioned left, right or centre, while larger configurations can extend to custom lengths of up to 3600mm.

This gives specifiers the freedom of a bespoke basin without requiring an entirely new product to be developed for every project.

The individual bowl format also creates a different user experience from a traditional communal trough or ramp basin. Each user has a defined hand-washing station within a continuous benchtop, while the surrounding surface provides practical space for handbags, shopping or personal items.

That distinction can be particularly important in hospitality, retail, workplace and public amenities where bathrooms are increasingly being treated as part of the overall architectural experience rather than purely functional rooms. Formline’s aesthetic flexibility supports that shift.

Soft rounded or oval bowls can create a quieter, more sculptural interior, while sharper geometric forms suit spaces requiring a bolder architectural design. Slim profiles provide a lighter appearance, while deeper aprons can give the basin greater visual weight and presence.

The result is not one recognisable “Formline look”, but a system that can adapt to very different interiors.

For straightforward projects, the collection also includes ready-to-order basin options. Where greater customisation is required, Stonebaths’ Q Builder platform allows designers to configure basin size, positioning and multiple-bowl layouts before generating specification documentation.

That combination of established design and specification flexibility is what makes Formline particularly useful in commercial environments.

Formline is ultimately about giving designers, architects and specifiers more freedom without adding more complexity. By combining established basin designs with extensive customisation, the range allows each project to respond to its own architecture, function and user experience. The result is a basin that really becomes form, rather than just function and feels at home as part of the space from the beginning.
