Today’s spaces are asked to do more — to feel refined, function intuitively and make better use of every square metre. Innovative hardware is playing an increasingly important role in meeting these demands, and Hettich’s FurnSpin is a standout example of how design and functionality can come together in unexpected ways.
FurnSpin rethinks the traditional idea of storage by replacing static, often obstructive elements such as hinged doors and drawers with a fluid rotational movement. With a simple flick of the wrist, furniture can transform, revealing or concealing what is inside with ease. This creates a completely different user experience - one that feels seamless, interactive and highly considered.
By allowing furniture to rotate within its own footprint, FurnSpin helps remove many of the spatial challenges associated with conventional cabinetry. Hinged doors can intrude into walkways, while extended drawers often require additional clearance to function effectively. FurnSpin offers an elegant alternative, enabling easier access to stored items while supporting a cleaner, more efficient use of space.
What makes Hettich's FurnSpin particularly compelling is the way it turns functionality into a feature. More than just a practical solution, it introduces a sculptural and dynamic element into the interior. The movement of the furniture adds a sense of surprise and sophistication, allowing designers to create spaces that feel both purposeful and memorable. Open, it can display treasured pieces or everyday items. Closed, it offers a clean, minimalist aesthetic that helps maintain visual calm.
This balance of innovation and performance makes FurnSpin suitable for a wide range of applications. With load capacities of 80kg and 120kg, it provides the strength needed for both residential and commercial settings, while opening up new possibilities for bespoke joinery, statement storage and multifunctional interiors.
At a time when flexibility and efficiency are more important than ever, FurnSpin presents a fresh way to think about how furniture interacts with a space. It is a solution that not only improves access and usability, but also enhances the overall design experience.
With its ability to eliminate obstruction, maximise functionality and create a striking moving feature within the home or workplace, FurnSpin represents a new perspective on what furniture can do.
