Swapping old for new and small for spacious, this project transformed a once tired living space into a generous entertaining zone flooded with natural light. Designed and constructed by company director Ben Spannenberg, Spannenberg & Son removed an existing rear wall to double the size of the kitchen and include a large dining room and outdoor entertaining area.
To ensure a smooth and cohesive renovation with optimal results, Spannenberg & Son worked collaboratively with its client, builders and draftsman to ensure the renovation blended beautifully with the home’s existing structure and capitalised on spectacular views.
Understanding that a spacious living area was a top priority for its client, Spannenberg & Son removed an existing wall between the kitchen and living areas, while adding a wing to the rear of the home. This expansion prompted the addition of a servery window to overlook the deck and greenery surrounding the house. Defined by rustic timber and acreage views, the outdoor entertainment deck is the ultimate alfresco area.

A GROUND FLOOR TRANSFORMATION

The kitchen’s vast bench space, handle-less cabinetry, dual oven, integrated stovetop and generous island bench epitomise modern, efficient living and offer a wealth of indoor entertainment possibilities. The expansive dining table is perfect for larger, formal gatherings, while guests and homeowners can also retire to the adjoining living area.
Complete with LED downlights throughout the home, stonework and raked ceilings, the kitchen and dining room offer an impressive display of natural light and beautiful contrast between white feature walls and neutral timber panels.
True to the client’s vision, ample windows, glass bi-fold doors and neutral white tones take advantage of natural light and increase the feeling of height and space throughout the wing. A testament to the company’s professionalism, this project fused the existing structure of the house with a seamless extension, creating ample space and light to enjoy moments with loved ones.
