But if you want to have a better experience, you can contact our team to carry out the work. In the meantime, we give you the instructions for installing your wallpaper like a real professional.
What must be done first, is to bring together some materials and equipment (table, container, glue, upholstery brush, paintbrush, cutter, large spatula, sticking brush, masking roller…) and then note that the wall is smooth, dry and clean.

Preparing the wallpaper

Now move on to preparing the wallpaper, which will be cut into strips stacked on top of each other on the table. In a container large enough to immerse the brush in, pour the glue. Depending on the type of wallpaper, you can use vinyl glue, expanded paper glue or universal wallpaper glue. Generally, it is powder glue that must be diluted with water. Then, it will be necessary to glue, completely coating the back of the first strip with glue before folding it back on itself on the glued side and then allowing it to soak while the operation is repeated with the following 3 or 4 strips.

The installation of wallpaper

And finally, it’s time to put down your wallpaper. There, it is necessary to follow well not to miss the operation. You have to start by unfolding the upper half of the strip before positioning it along with the ceiling if it is straight or leave it protruding by a few centimetres if it is not. Then you will need to unfold the other half of the strip to drop it along the wall. Using the upholstery brush, smooth down, starting from the top, from the center to the edges. Then lay the second strip, taking care to make the joint well with the first before using a joint roller to smooth the connections between the strips. And do the same with the other strips until all the wallpaper covers the wall.

7 tricks to place the wallpaper

While it is true that placing wallpaper is not a difficult task in excess, a few tricks on how to place it will come in handy before getting down to work.

What is the wall like?

One of the first considerations that you have to take into account is the characteristics of the wall that you are going to wallpaper. Is it a porous wall? Is it completely level? Is it clean and without damage?
If you find yourself facing a wall that is porous, we recommend that you stick the first time as a primer. In this way, you ensure greater adhesion of the second layer of the glue.

Choose the specific glue

Not all queues are the same: on the one hand, we have the conventional glue, which can perfectly serve to glue the wallpaper to the wall. On the other hand, we can find thicker or thickened tails. Use what you use, it is best to give a coat of primer to ensure that the paper adheres properly.

Calculate the paper footage

Knowing how much you need is essential to place the wallpaper. Do the calculation and think about buying a little more just in case. You may need a special piece at any given time to cover a small area in particular.

Clean and sand the surface

To place wallpaper successfully, the surface must be smooth and clean. Use suitable substances such as bleach for it. Sand if necessary so that the glue is then applied better. Remember also that you have to remove doors, skirting boards and other reliefs that will be above the paper.

Order the paper cuts

Wallpaper is acquired in roll: a very useful idea is to put a number to each cut indicating an order. Otherwise, you can fall into the problem that the prints do not fit you. You must follow what is called “coats”: the pattern of repetition that the drawing has.

Remove the tail

remains The tail remains must be removed immediately or else they will ruin your work.

Create a stream to dry

It is important that when drying, do not touch any of the glued walls and that the room is well ventilated.
