What must be done first, is to bring together some materials and equipment (table, container, glue, upholstery brush, paintbrush, cutter, large spatula, sticking brush, masking roller…) and then note that the wall is smooth, dry and clean.
Now move on to preparing the wallpaper, which will be cut into strips stacked on top of each other on the table. In a container large enough to immerse the brush in, pour the glue. Depending on the type of wallpaper, you can use vinyl glue, expanded paper glue or universal wallpaper glue. Generally, it is powder glue that must be diluted with water. Then, it will be necessary to glue, completely coating the back of the first strip with glue before folding it back on itself on the glued side and then allowing it to soak while the operation is repeated with the following 3 or 4 strips.
And finally, it’s time to put down your wallpaper. There, it is necessary to follow well not to miss the operation. You have to start by unfolding the upper half of the strip before positioning it along with the ceiling if it is straight or leave it protruding by a few centimetres if it is not. Then you will need to unfold the other half of the strip to drop it along the wall. Using the upholstery brush, smooth down, starting from the top, from the center to the edges. Then lay the second strip, taking care to make the joint well with the first before using a joint roller to smooth the connections between the strips. And do the same with the other strips until all the wallpaper covers the wall.
