A new, contemporary New Zealand home with water and mountain views has hit the market for NZ$4.5 million ($2.85 million).
The nearly 3,000-square-foot residence is located on Queenstown Hill, a small mountain in Otago, a region on the country’s South Island, according to the listing with Jane Hanna and Hadley van Schaik of New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty.
Walls of glass allow for vistas from almost every room of the home, which sits on a private road overlooking New Zealand’s longest lake.

“The panoramic views across Lake Wakatipu to The Remarkables Mountain Range are breathtaking,” the listing said. “The warmth of the timber contrasts with the roughness of the rock anchoring this home into its surroundings and creating a memorable first impression.”
Indeed, dark wood and stone have been used throughout the build to create a residence that blends in with the natural environment, wth interiors curated by local firm Pryde Interior Design. That includes cedar ceilings and polished concrete floors, plus a living green wall above the wooden staircase, according to the listing.
The home has a semi-open floor plan that includes an eat-in kitchen with granite countertops, and retractable glass doors that lead to the outdoor living areas, including a front balcony and a covered north-facing terrace with a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by a stone mantle.
