Our new Portiqo Architectural Screens are a New Zealand-made aluminium screening system designed to enhance architectural aesthetics across residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
When a façade needs to work as hard as it looks, material choice matters. Portiqo Architectural Screens by UNEX Systems offer architects and designers a clean, flexible solution - designed and manufactured right here in New Zealand.
Built from architectural grade aluminium, Portiqo battens are lightweight, non-rusting, and resistant to moisture, UV exposure, mould, fungi, and insects. That means consistent performance across New Zealand's variable climates, with minimal ongoing maintenance for building owners.
Versatile by Design
Five batten extrusion sizes - ranging from 50 × 50 mm through to 225 × 50 mm - and three fixing configurations give designers the freedom to tailor the system to almost any building form. Portiqo suits face-fixed wall screening, bottom- and top-fixed vertical panels, and sloped or gable-end installations, making it equally at home on a private residence, apartment block, or commercial building.
Performance and Durability
Made from architectural grade aluminium, Portiqo is lightweight yet strong, making handling and installation efficient. The material is non-rusting and resistant to moisture, UV exposure, mold, fungi, and insects, ensuring lasting performance in New Zealand’s variable climates. Portiqo Architectural Screens are backed by a 10-year UNEX product warranty, offering long-term reassurance for both specifiers and building owners.
Finishes that Last
Portiqo battens are available in a variety of finishes to suit both aesthetic and environmental requirements:
Powder-Coated Aluminium
Wide selection from the Dulux architectural range
Long-lasting colour stability and resistance to weather
Metwood Timber-Look Coatings
Realistic woodgrain finish using advanced sublimation technology
Scratch, impact, and warp resistant
Suitable for interior or exterior use
These options allow designers to achieve either contemporary crispness or the warmth of natural timber, without the maintenance concerns of wood.
Designed for Visual Enhancement
Portiqo screens are intended for façade screening and visual enhancement only and are not designed as fall-prevention barriers. Supplied exclusively through UNEX-authorised fabricators, the system ensures precise fabrication and professional installation on every project.
