Futura HPL panels are now manufactured using bio-based lignin glue replacing traditional fossil phenol to create a more environmentally friendly panel.

Lignin is a recyclable and ecologically friendly product, found in the cell walls of almost all dry-land plants and is a by-product of the paper kraft-pulping process. It is a wood component that gives plants shape and stability as a kind of connector, solidifying the cell walls.

Using bio-based lignin in the manufacturing process significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the Futura HPL panels from production to final end-use applications — without compromising quality or technical performance of the panel.
