The Morsø 1440 is a incarnation of the classic Squirrel fireplace. Compact with traditional styling, the 1440 has an updated combustion system that delivers excellent efficiencies. With this system harmful particles and surplus gases are burnt off in the firebox, fulfilling the strictest environmental requirements.

The model comes with forged side motifs featuring Morsø’s iconic Squirrel logo. These panels act as a heat exchanger drawing cool air from the floor, the air is then heated before flowing naturally back into the room, which allows for a smaller side clearance of only 230mm to combustible materials. Constructed in cast iron the 1440 benefits from a small foot print size, making it ideal for smaller rooms, garden outbuilding’s, greenhouses, even a tiny house, or house boat.

Controlling the stove is simple. The top circular dial controls the primary air – used for starting the stove. Once lit this can be adjusted along with the bottom dial to control the burn rate of your fuel. The ergonomic handle for opening and closing the door for refuelling stays cool to the touch. There’s also a riddling grate and ash pan for removing ash.
