Thermosash DeltaGuard™ Security Window System
DeltaGuard™ is a security window system developed by Thermosash for low to medium security for human and physical structural impact project requirements. A specifically engineered frame and combined engineered glass suite offering correctional facilities, youth detention, acute and forensic mental health facilities and data centre projects the peace of mind on entry or exit restriction and ballistic or blast control – protecting those that are being treated and the staff in the building.
Security window systems need to meet complex requirements for strength, safety, light and ventilation, easy cleaning, patient operation and staff control - consideration should be given to the type of glass, frames, fixtures and fittings that will be used in the design and manufacture of these products. The fixtures and fittings should be able to withstand targeted abuse and should not pose a threat or a risk of self-harm if damaged.
Impact Testing - Thermosash DeltaGuard™ system has been impact tested in an IANZ accredited laboratory - view a video of the DeltaGuard™ Suite test.
Design Considerations - Thermosash takes into consideration the specific design requirements unique to each protect including:
- Anti-ligature - Suite is fixed in place but potential for ligature is minimised
- High impact resistance - Glass Design and Suite Frame are designed for containment / de-escalation areas
- Weaponry deterrent - Suites are designed to reduce the risk of being used as a weapon
- Anti-Contraband - Suites can be designed to eliminate contraband transfer
- Quick replacement - Should a glass pane be broken during an event; our suite can offer a quick replacement to ensure the room is operational in the shortest amount of time
- Interstitial blinds systems - options to allow for user or a master control of blinds, anti-ligature mitigation or microbial cleaning separation. Thermosash suite covers internal and external weathertight units.
- Passive Ventilation options available.
In order to create a welcoming yet secure facility, windows can include features such as stainless-steel mesh which guard on opening sash area offering secure ventilation.
Thermal Performance - DeltaGuard™ accommodates up to 41mm IGU made up of toughened laminate. Although not thermally broken, Thermosash can offer thermal design calculations to support your project. Each project is custom engineered for the intended use, span, and building construction.
Low-carbon aluminium window system - Thermosash partners with a local NZ-owned extruder achieving a much lower carbon footprint than the global average - offering reduced upfront carbon emissions.

Our Expertise
Thermosash’s abilities have grown since its 1973 start-up when Laurie Hayes and his colleagues manufactured commercial windows out of a small production facility. It quickly became apparent that the products and skills of the workforce were creating a performing quality, flexible product that the market sought.
