Andrew Child Architect

Andrew offers a complete service spanning the early design stages of a project through to the final construction stage, and can adapt the extent of his service to suit each client, project and budget. For those clients wanting to initially assess their project’s viability, he also offers Pre-purchase Design Advice and Pre-Design Feasibility Reports. 

These often assist clients in prioritising their needs, enabling them to arrive at a balanced brief and budget before deciding whether to formally commit to design work for for their project.

With over 20 years experience, Andrew has previously held senior positions with several leading Melbourne design architectural practices. As both a design and project architect, he has worked on a range of project scales and types spanning residential, educational, public and commercial buildings. He has also taught both design and construction courses in the architecture departments of RMIT and Melbourne universities.

Andrew has chosen to remain a sole practitioner who undertakes a relatively small number of projects at any one time. This intimate scale of the practice, coupled with his considerable and diverse experience and expertise, enables him to personally concentrate on the unique requirements inherent in each project. It also enables a professional, thorough, approachable and attentive relationship with each client and provides the foundation for well resolved and enduring architectural solutions.
