5 Queens Road is a Grade A and five-star Nabers rated office building. Located within close proximity to the city, the building offers panoramic views of Albert Park, Port Philip Bay, and the CBD. The client TE Capital wanted to activate the ground floor by bringing new life and identity. K2LD achieved this by introducing a more flexible and inviting user experience with increased functionality to the end of trip facilities. The focus of the design was to create a calm and welcoming environment that enhances user engagement and wellbeing. K2LD explored the potential of the ground floor and provided considered spatial planning with varied spaces for quiet contemplation, work, and interaction. The design layers natural elements within the interior to evoke a sense of warmth and mirroring the greenery and textures of Albert Park. The elements that lend to those ideas of a park experience are, integrated planting, soft green carpeted areas, vibrant green natural stone, floods of natural light, textured paint, and timber textured wall panelling.

The business lounge and café offer the tenants and visitors a place to gather, dwell and rest amongst the earthy, natural palette of the wall finishes and furniture. While also giving them a choice of how and where to work, with different settings including, café style seating, enclosed booth areas, relaxed banquet seating, collaboration tables and casual lounge spaces.

We are an international architecture and interior design practice with a vision to Nurture the Future. With offices in Melbourne, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, K2LD is now over 20 years old. We’re a proud, passionate and diverse group of individuals who combine to create great outcomes for our clients and the urban environment.

It’s in our differences that we find our distinctiveness, and that shows in our work – from all scales of single or multi-residential and commercial developments, through to public and private education and infrastructure projects throughout the region.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
