The Growth Area School Project (GASP) strives to accommodate for the educational needs of our growing state, with the building of ten new schools across the state of Victoria.

In joint venture with Architectus, we were proud to be selected by the Victorian Schools Building Authority (VSBA) Department of Education and Training (DET) for the design and construction of the Growth Areas Schools Project (GASP). This major education infrastructure project sought the delivery of 10 new schools in record time, mostly across Melbourne’s outer growth area.

In collaboration with Architectus, our goal was to create a collection of learning environments which support a range of pedagogical methods. The new spaces create all sorts of learning areas that promote the unique growth of each child. A more open interior allows for creativity and diversity in learning.

As an education strategy, GASP also creates learning pathways and networks that extend beyond each respective school. This provides children and their families in these emerging regions with more opportunities and access to a range of education levels – from early childhood schools all the way through to post-graduate studies.

The development of schools across wider Victoria will link growth areas and promote community connection. This ambitious project strives to create a network for new communities that connects teaching and learning activities with the latest research, generates business activities, and ultimately activates the community at large.

In late 2019, we were thrilled to receive the Minister’s Award at the Victorian School Design awards in Joint venture with Architectus. With the recent completion of several GASP schools, it has been immensely rewarding to witness young students experience the joy and wonder of learning in their new facilities.

GASP included the design of 10 new schools for all different ages. These included Primary Schools:

  • Aitken Hill Primary School
  • Ashley Park Primary School
  • Burnside Primary School
  • Pakenham Primary School
  • Keysborough Gardens Primary School
  • Mirripoa Primary School

Primary & Secondary Schools:

  • Saltwater P-9 College
  • Doherty’s Creek P-9 College

Secondary Schools:

  • Homestead Senior Secondary College
  • Oberon High School (New Campus)
