Introducing 6HEAD, a captivating steakhouse concept that pays homage to Australia's colonial heritage and the remarkable story of the First Fleet. In a time when steak was a rare and prized indulgence, our concept celebrates the journey of the legendary six head of Black Cape cattle that shaped Australia's cattle country.
As the First Fleet embarked on their voyage from England to Australia, they carried only six head of Black Cape cattle, a valuable and limited resource acquired from the Cape of Good Hope. These precious animals were entrusted to a convict with strict instructions to keep them under constant watch. However, fate had a different plan. While the convict took a break for lunch, the cattle mysteriously disappeared, leaving no trace behind. Despite exhaustive searches, the six head seemed lost forever.
Eight years later, rumors spread of a miraculous discovery. Over 100 cattle, believed to be direct descendants of the original six, were spotted 80 miles inland from Sydney. Flourishing without human intervention, these resilient animals gave hope to Governor Hunter, who personally explored the bush to witness this extraordinary sight. Inspired by his findings, he named the grazing area 'The Pastures.'
It was on that very evening that the Governor and his party stumbled upon a stray from the herd and deemed it a perfect opportunity for steak. Word quickly spread beyond the colony, proclaiming Australia as a land of abundant possibilities for cattle farming.

We have done so for almost 30 years and in this time we have learned a tremendous amount about how people behave naturally and instinctively within these social environments. We have learned the hard way that in order to design successful venues, we needed to place predictive human behaviour at the heart of what we do. We capture succinctly how most people behave most of the time in order to design spaces for the most joy and ultimately the most success. This assists us in capturing the spirit of place.
