Alexandra House is an architectural inner-city residence situated in an exclusive Melbourne suburb, reimagined by AKI Design Studio for its second owners who sought a Milanese-inspired city escape. Honouring the home’s original modern design, AKI refined the interiors with simple materiality, subtle floor-plan tweaks, and a focus on versatility. Honest, enduring materials Terrazzo, marble, timber and steel are paired with European vintage pieces, Beni rugs and iconic furniture by designers such as Eileen Gray and Patricia Urquiola. A standout feature is the striking Terrazzo entrance, which carries throughout the home. The result is a sophisticated yet relaxed space that feels globally inspired, offering both comfort and functionality for everyday living and effortless entertaining.
