This Bayview job was one of the most rewarding jobs for OCB to date. We extended the garage and converted the upstairs roof space to a maid's quarter, we then added a new storey to the top-level roof space. This consisted of bedrooms, bathrooms and a living space that connected to the maid's quarter taking a total of 9 months. The biggest challenge was to support the wide-span floor joists without disturbing the existing house and without using heavy steel members. We also had to keep the traditional Hamptons theme running through the house, making sure our attention to detail was at the forefront. Mathew, the owner, was extremely happy with the end result and I have to say we were too.
