A private refuge and fairy garden for a young family, that was loved and used heavily during lockdown.
These clients moved back into their property after having rented it out for a number of years. Safe to say the garden was overgrown and in dis- repair. Here we have retrained neglected espalier citrus trees, removed overgrown and crowded shrubs to open up the space and create a child friendly nature play garden with imagination at its heart. We have loved maintaining this garden since we planted it out two years ago.
It has been a joy to observe the garden grow and develop over the years and see how the clients (and their growing family) have used the space and made it their own. During the 2020 lockdown, swings were suspended from the trees and barbies and handmade ornaments began to decorate the garden. Natural timber stump steppers and native violets around the existing apple tree became a favourite place for fairies to visit and hours of fun to be had.
