An exquisite 18th century apartment in the heart of Piazza Palazzo di città! Meticulously transformed into a luxurious urban residence, the space features a monumental glass curtain wall, mezzanine level, and bespoke design elements throughout.
The apartment is situated on the first floor of an 18th century building in the magnificent Piazza Palazzo di città, which was a marketplace in the middle ages, and the ancient heart of the Roman city.
Used for many decades as an office, the entire area had been subdivided into many units.
The project aimed at rediscovering the airy proportions of the main room and the access to abundant natural light from the high windows, by demolishing all the partition walls and the false ceilings.
The individually designed monumental glass curtain wall between the kitchen and the living room is 4.75 metres high.
The mezzanine was conceived as a projection of the 15-metre-long bookshelf wall, and marks a division between the living and sleeping areas. It also hides a bathroom and laundry on the lower floor, as well as a workstation on the first floor.
Extraordinary attention to detail, combined with individual design of every object, allowed for the creation of a stylish and luxurious urban residence.
