Crafers English Brook is a natural creek adding to the cottage style garden nestled in the Adelaide hills.
Our client wished for a very natural and subtle water feature to become the hub for all the local flora and fauna, helping to sustain the natural habitat. They wished to enhance the space with something that both visually and audibly created peace and tranquillity.
This water feature was built in 8 days. With limited access the entire project was completed by hand.
It is 20m in length and ranging between 50cm to 1m wide. It meanders through the middle of the front garden, scaling perfectly with the already established trees and shrubs. Positioned mid-way down the feature is a seated viewing area. Here the movement of the cascading waterfalls creates a mesmerising visual and a relaxing acoustic that can be enjoyed by all. The project consists of 15 ton of local moss rock and 2 ton of pebble stone. Seasonal aquatic plants and mosses were also used. The 3000 litre reservoir at the base of the water feature houses the pump that reticulates the water throughout the entire system. This allows the Crafers English Brook to run in a self-sustaining manner. To enhance the water feature we added 12 lights to make it truly spectacular at night.
