Kitchen
The fundamental theme of the house throughout is black and white with a mix of old and new; a classic look which is complimentary to the villa period. This colonial-inspired kitchen gets its sparkle from the star patterned splash-back. Black-framed cabinetry with a silver rub and turned legs to the kitchen island enhance the look.

Two large cupboards either side of a Falcon oven frame the kitchen and create symmetry. An ornate pewter mirror is centered above the cooking to reflect the lighting from the living room. The cupboard to the left is a bar, with a mirror back and lit up glass shelves and a Fisher and Paykel cool-drawer below. A wine fridge on the end of the island completes the entertaining area. Behind cavity sliders and to the right of the kitchen, a scullery houses the main fridge and hides the daily workings of the busy family. The tap-ware is the ultimate in glamour, with black crystal handles.

Bathroom
This room needed to be glamourous but fun, bold and unexpected! Used as the family and guest bathroom, it needed to complement the villa period of the home, while bringing in modern interpretations – Black and White as the foundation with a pop colour. Due to the shape of the room and the sash window featured centre at one end, a freestanding bath was to be a prominent feature.

A dresser was reinterpreted as a vanity with a new granite benchtop. This lovely piece has ornate pressed tin covering the whole cabinet. The mirror cabinet above was custom made for additional storage, with an ornate frame to tie into the more traditional look for the room, but finished in high gloss black for a more glamorous look.

Wall mounted Perrin & Rowe bathroom fittings from England feature over the bath and vanity. The colour of the wall was inspired by the Pantone colour of the year Rose Quartz, something fun and uplifting, yet changeable over time. The floor tiles add the fun element, while still keeping in a traditional black and white format, but with a contemporary pattern. The black glass chandelier, black and white stripe towels and paper mache Zebra add the finishing touches.
