Reviving a Mid-Century Classic
One of a legacy of beautifully designed, highly detailed houses that Sibbel Builders crafted across Melbourne between 1964 and 1975, K.Holland respectfully designed this renovation with a nod to the skill and vision of the original creators.
Tasked with expertly transforming this cherished family home into a tranquil retreat for empty nesters, the team skilfully restored its mid-century modern charm. The spaces were thoughtfully reimagined to suit contemporary living while gracefully honouring the home’s origins, ensuring it remains a treasured sanctuary long into the future.
The previously unused formal dining area has been transformed into a practical walk-in pantry, optimizing the space for modern living; and new skylights fill the home with natural light, introducing an airy and inviting atmosphere.
Throughout the slate and terrazzo floors, mosaic tiles, rich veneers, and black steel accents create a cohesive palette that feels both timeless and on-trend.
Additionally, the bathrooms have been thoughtfully redesigned to ensure safety and comfort for individuals with limited mobility, without compromising on style.
This thoughtful renovation enhances the home’s original character, ensuring it continues to tell its story for generations to come.
