Embassy Theatre, Wellington banner

The Embassy is an iconic building in our capital city, and is especially well loved after hosting the world premiere screening of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Tile Warehouse has recently been involved in the refit of the entrance and bar.

Tile Warehouse worked on this amazing project alongside lead interior designer, Catherine from Indyk Architects in NSW, Australia.

Originally built in 1924, the Embassy was designed with elements of Art Deco, Gothic and Classical Style architecture. In keeping with this heritage, marble stone Carrara was chosen in a 300x300mm size interlocking mosaic sheet.

The stone mosaic runs in strips, all the way from the entrance to the bar. It even continues up the front of the bar creating a stunning feature with this classic natural stone. This particular mosaic was commissioned especially for this project and it is now exclusive to Tile Warehouse.
