The proposal for Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre includes a new outdoor 50m Olympic Swimming Pool with spectator seating, marshalling and recreation areas. The existing leisure centre provides a range of fitness services and facilities.

The local climate required an approach that could endure the extremes of both summer and winter, with an annual rainfall of only 400mm. The terraced lawn provides a flexible space for swimmers and spectators alike with rock boulders set amongst hardy native grass and shrub planting to defining the spaces. Shade tree species were selected and positioned to compliment the planting and provide increasing relief for visitors each summer.

Xeriscapes is a Landscape Architecture practice with an emphasis on resilient Australian landscapes, we design across a range of scales where innovation and sustainability are our primary focus.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
