The proposed design responds to the landscape, running along the existing contours and softly stepping down as the hill gently slopes towards the seaward view.

The home has been planned to create moments of connection and separation in order to support the specific spatial requirements outlined in the Brief. These moments have been designed to guide you through the building as you transition between spaces. This sets up a series of hierarchies between the interconnections and divisions of spatial functions.

The home stretches itself over the site providing shelter from the prevalent South Westerly winds, in turn creating a sheltered courtyard space to the North West of the living area. The living and dining areas respond to these sheltered conditions, opening up in both directions to support a comfortable indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

A double height portion of the home provides retreat and spectacular outlook while a separated guest room provides comfortable accommodation and a flexible multi-use area.

The pool is positioned to the North of the building ensuring shelter from the SW wind and all day unimpeded sunshine to maximise natural thermal gains. Its position in relation to the home allows for discrete fencing and easy access while reinforcing the building’s relationship with the landscape.

About the
Professional

We enjoy a challenge and particularly the journey that is creative problem solving.

Engaging with the latest technologies allows us to be innovative and accurate in our working, planning, budgeting, timing and construction methods. We truly believe the design and building process has many areas to be challenged and improved. We also understand that architecture isn’t just the culmination of an idea or concept but it must be responsive to the environments of; location, client needs + dreams, financial and cultural positions.  Sensitively bringing these attributes together shapes, guides and balances each project’s scope, generating a unique set of criteria for the design to emerge and develop from.

As every client, site and project is different, we welcome every challenge that is presented and endeavour to make each project an exceptional journey and experience for all involved.

Clear communication, openness and integrity ground our company and its relationships with our clients and collaborators. We wish to engage with positive energy, creativity and innovation and to mitigate as many foreseeable problems that may arise or be of concern.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
