Chester Consultants provided the civil, fire, and structural engineering inputs for the development of Kauri Flats School in Takanini, Auckland. A key civil design feature utilised by Chester was to use a network of swales to dispose of stormwater instead of a traditional piped network. Structurally there were many challenges to overcome due to the ground conditions -this resulted in a collaborative effort with neighboring developments to ensure that the best practical outcome for all stakeholders was achieved.
