The MacGregor Home Centre project, located just 13km from Brisbane’s CBD, is a testament to innovative repurposing and revitalization. Formerly a 30-year-old vacant warehouse, this centre has been transformed into a bustling hub for furniture and homewares shopping, in close proximity to Westfield Garden City. Developers AVENTUS Group, in collaboration with TRG (The Retail Group), undertook the task of redesigning and reconstructing the centre to accommodate new retail stores like The Good Guys and Chipmunks. The refurbishment included the demolition and reconstruction of towering 12-metre-high internal walls, as well as the installation of new flooring and ceilings. 

To meet the unique structural requirements of the project, contractors DMS Developments sought a steel stud supplier capable of manufacturing custom single studs of exceptional length without the need for splicing. This led them to partner with Studco Building Systems, renowned for their expertise in providing value-engineered solutions for tall walls in Queensland. Studco's Technical Team developed a bespoke light gauge steel stud system tailored to the construction needs of the MacGregor Home Centre, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution that eliminated the necessity for spliced studs.
