Derek and Lorraine purchased this home in 2021 and by May 2022, this townhouse was completely transformed. What started as an idea to repaint a couple bedrooms quickly grew into planning a full interior renovation with RenoMasters.

RenoMasters had the luxury of completing this renovation while the owners lived in their home out of town, meaning this project could be juggled between other jobs. Time was on our side and RenoMasters accomplished this within the time frame promised.

The house was in great structural condition and no council permits were required. The vast majority of this renovation was focused on a full rebuild of the interior, but some exterior construction and landscaping was completed.

Interior work:

All walls in the house were stripped, relined, and insulated (roof and ceiling included) to be brought up to current code. New carpets, curtains and blinds were installed alongside double-glazed windows. As Master Builders, RenoMasters know the best way to heat a home is from the floor up, this was the reason underfloor heating was installed in the tiled bathroom. A new central heating system was also connected, heating through floor vents in main common areas of the house. Using this system keeps this house well ventilated at an ambient temperature and gives it the ability to heat the home while all internal doors are open.  This system can also be operated remotely giving the owners the advantage of heating/cooling the property being arriving home.

A feature wall with patterned wallpaper in the master bedroom was picked out by the owners and adds a pop of colour. In each bedroom, the built-in wardrobes were opened up and sliding doors with outward facing mirrors installed to utilise the available floor space.

Before renovations began, there were two entries into the kitchen. After providing some options and collaborating with the owners, it was decided to block on of the entrances in order to allow the kitchen to have a U-shape and wrap around the room.

Another wall (none load bearing) between the kitchen and dining was knocked down to open up the space for an open plan feel and utilise full space of the floors and walls.

A vinyl planking floor in the separate toilet ties in with the light wood, soft-close cabinetry in the kitchen. The kitchen received state of the art appliances and a feature splash back tiled wall picked out by the owners. They also chose to use this same tiling and contrasting grey grout in the bathroom, achieving a cohesive and modern look.

The property now has all new doors which were sprayed, lacquered and baked giving a 30% gloss finish.

RenoMasters provided planning, ideas, and solutions throughout this renovation, and worked closely with our valuable subcontractors to achieve the final product.

Extra electrical outlets were added throughout the home, bringing it into the 21st century. Dimmer LED lights installed in the lounge and dining are perfect to set the mood and senor lights in the hallway not only save electricity but provide extra safety during the night. A digital electronic lock was installed on the front door for added security.  An EV charger was installed in the garage.

Exterior work:

The wooden exterior was painted and RenoMasters organised gardeners to meet with the owners to discuss redevelopment of the garden. Decking was added next to the existing deck creating a more functional entry/exit point which makes it all one level, much more user friendly for wheelbarrows and other garden maintenance. The attached garage only required a fresh coat of paint.

The customers are delighted with the end result and look forward to spending many days enjoying their newly renovated home and spending time with family.
