Offspring Profiles luminaires were specified for Naenae Train Station’s upgraded pedestrian subway, integrating culture and safety through illuminated handrails and backlit architectural features.
The refreshed subway at Naenae Train Station in Lower Hutt blends functionality, cultural expression, and safety. Moth Light led the lighting design, Offspring Profiles supplied the key luminaires that bring the architectural vision to life.
Along the stairs and ramps, Richie Rail 20, a 316-grade stainless-steel illuminated handrail with IP65-rated LED strip, provides practical guidance and a continuous, elegant line of light.
Integrated into pelmets behind stylised Māori motifs, Angle Andy 25 backlights these cultural designs with subtle, even illumination—amplifying the art and rhythm of the space.
Through these profiles, Offspring Profiles has helped deliver a pedestrian subway that’s safer, more visually engaging, and deeply rooted in its local context.
