Working closely with our clients – this project involved taking our client’s vision for their site and applying it to the existing house and land– to create a beautiful traditional and modern family home.
In developing the design for this house – we needed to consider the best approval process for such a development – and in doing so were able to work out a compliant design that met the brief and could be approved under a complying development application (+ DA for carport + CDC for swimming pool).
The scope for this project included – alterations and upgrades to the existing traditional home and the addition of a new modern ‘barn like’ rear extension. With a modern, but gentle approach to the interiors we created a central hallway ‘spine’ connecting the old with the new – with a split-level glazed walkway to emphasise the connection of the two buildings. The rear ‘barn’ open plan living, kitchen and dining area is sun drenched with high ceilings, and a gable roof with exposed trusses that steps out onto an entertaining terrace and pool. This house is perfectly matched to our clients needs and personal style.
