Alma House: in contrast to the small, inefficient dark space of this pre-existing home, our architecture and design brief was to produce a space filled with natural light that was better suited to the needs of our client who had a young family.

The existing building had a large footprint on a narrow site. Our architects cleverly created deeper setbacks for all the ground floor windows and doors so that they provided pockets of beautiful landscaping that could be viewed from any of the ground floor living spaces.

The intermittent spaces between the glazing contained functional storage to meet the family’s needs.

A lounge doubled height void with cathedral ceilings was provided over the dining room which gave a great sense of drama and allowed natural light to fill both the ground and the first floor deep within the floorplate. Bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor were positioned around the central void. The internal cathedral roof form was replicated in each of the upstairs rooms to give each space a sense of height and playfulness.

The material palette was quite refined. White walls and ceilings, oak flooring & white v-groove joinery with accents of oak. The material palette was then a backdrop to the client's beautiful collection of artwork and furniture.

About the
Professional

Modify has gained a local reputation for creating and transforming beautiful yet functional homes in and around the eastern suburbs, drawing on our extensive experience in urban architecture, interior design, and construction.

Understanding our clients devote significant investment to  their build or renovation, we have carved a streamlined method that provides clients with an early and clear cost plan prior to lodgement of their Development Application. Clients receive a detailed construction cost  plan for their renovation, ultimately allowing clients to progress past concept planning and into design development and interior design phases with confidence.

Our integrated team of senior Architects, Interior Designers, and Construction (both management and on-site foreman and trades) ensure the transition is seamless across all aspects of the design and build. Our fixed fees for design and fixed price lump sum contracts for construction offer clients the ability to have a clear picture of the overall costs prior to commencing the works, be it the design phases or the construction itself. Our process allows clients to pre-plan construction commencement dates, ensuring projects are able to commence at a time that suits them.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
