The Providence Community Centre in South Ripley serves as a vibrant social hub, featuring a blend of raw and modern materials, generous roof cantilevers for shading, and ample natural light, all set against a backdrop of parklands and mountain views.
The Providence Community Centre is a natural gathering point and the social hub of South Ripley and is set to become the heart and soul of the community. A balance of raw and modern textures such as brick, timber and exposed metal structure gives the building a relatable personality. Generous roof cantilevers provide shading to the café and entertainment deck, while high-level roofing and skylights allow natural lighting to flow through the building. I was tasked with capturing the interior refurbishment including new flooring, joinery new entry and hardwood privacy screens. The centre is surrounded by parklands with views of mountain ranges beyond.
