Punawai: A modern music studio at Kristin School, featuring a central atrium with a circular skylight, a living roof, and sustainable materials, completed in 2024 to inspire student creativity and collaboration.
Punawai is the latest addition to Kristin School, a new modern music studio designed to inspire student creativity. At the heart of the building is a central atrium, lit by a circular skylight, which serves as a hub for students to collaborate. Sustainability is a key focus of the design, featuring a living roof, repurposed materials, and advanced insulation techniques.
The name “Punawai,” selected by kaumātua Kereama Nathan, symbolises a wellspring of musical knowledge.
Kwanto played a crucial role in the development of Punawai by providing quantity surveying and project management services, ensuring the project was completed on time and within budget.
We are proud to have contributed to this significant initiative, which enhances students' experiences in music and aligns with our commitment to sustainability.
