By vanVeenendaal Rosnell Langley Architecture Ltd
A complete refurbishment of a penthouse apartment on the border of Remuera and Newmarket. We virtually stripped back the walls of this apartment to welcome new life in a fabulous location.
The sophisticated palette of materials and colours, with careful detailing, resulted in a luxurious, yet understated urban home. The living room acts as the central core of the home, with a bio-fuel gas fire and TV which is able to be hidden behind moveable batten panels. The pattern of stained oak fins and blocks are a common theme throughout, repeating into the hallway.
The kitchen was redesigned and expanded to include a modern scullery, semi-concealed cooking area and a breakfast bar.
The interior design layout, detail design of the kitchen, the bathroom lighting and built-in furniture were all designed by Paul Rosnell of VRLA Architecture, working closely with Gretl Lukas of Lukas Design who styled the furniture and material palette of this modern home.
