Corporate Architecture and Office Interior Design - Sydney - 4500 sqm

Australia’s biggest entertainment company appointed Cradle Design and Gattica Projects to design and manage the delivery of their Sydney headquarters refurbishment at World Square. Builder, Urban Fitouts worked closely with Cradle to construct the corporate architecture. Cradle carried out a comprehensive corporate design strategy and master plan prior to developing new work settings, gathering areas and location of business groups, fully optimising use of the existing workplaces. The primary vision was to transform the workplace into an environment that reflects all of SCA’s media brands.

Key areas completed include a stylish reception and front-of-house suite of meeting rooms, new staff kitchen and breakout facilities, casual meeting hubs and new work points. A key-planning goal was to move people around the four floors to encourage interaction in the workplace. Level 13 on the bottom and level 16 on the rooftop, now house new meeting, kitchen and breakout facilities that staff across all levels can access and use. The world-famous rooftop area can now host board meetings, presentations and functions, as well as the already popular gigs.

Unique to the project, each meeting room was named after a celebrity and the finishes were selected based on the room name i.e. The boardroom - Beyonce, and the general meeting room - Green Day. The Beyonce boardroom design was elegant and rich in colour and texture, with a credenza and mini kitchenette finished in a brushed titanium gold reflective surface from Laminex Innovations. The carpet chosen was a plush deep aqua, which complemented the MaharamBlush wall panels. Grounding the room, a large black timber veneer table with a black base was incorporated into the design, as well as chairs from the famous WilkhahnGraph, finished in a bone leather from Pelle.

Critical to the project success and business continuity, the corporate architecture had to be completed amongst live-on-air broadcasting. The existing recording studios needed to remain fully functioning at all times during the design process.

This project is one of three modern workplace design for Southern Cross Austereo spanning two states. Cradle having completed the master plan for both stage 1 and 2 of the corporate office interior design, is set to commence stage three of the commercial space design later in 2019.
