Coconut-scented lotions, salty hair, sandy feet, melted surf wax and drinking cold coronas on the front lawn with friends. A family home, ditching city living to chase the coastal dream. A home that celebrates a union between dwelling and beach, taking our enjoyment of coastal experiences into daily living.

Higgins enters its third iteration as a home on this site for a young family of four. Retaining the existing home is a considered approach by our the home owners to reduce contribution to land fill. Recycled timbers salvaged from the nearby Granite Island Kiosk Jetty improve the homes carbon store and lowers embodied energy for material supply. Passive sustainability techniques are applied to ensure ocean breezes cool the home in the summer months while winter sunlight streams through on cooler days.
