Tally Springs

Set in the Gold Coast hinterland, Tally Springs reimagines the traditional Australian shed as a contemporary rural home. Designed by Shed House Australia, the structure centres around a striking 8.8-metre double-height void under a 45-degree gabled roof — a bold gesture that floods the home with light while celebrating volume and form. Created for multigenerational living, the layout includes a studio and garage that echo the main home’s gable silhouette, delivering a cohesive design language with space for both connection and privacy. Energy efficiency was a top priority. Double glazing throughout was essential for comfort in the region’s variable climate. Vantage systems delivered high-performance solutions that didn’t compromise on aesthetics. Elevate commercial frames allowed for precise execution of the feature gable windows, matching the internal ceiling pitch — a key architectural detail that demanded technical accuracy. The Series 616 MAGNUM™ Awning and fixed windows support passive ventilation and natural light flow, reinforcing both thermal performance and the home’s crisp geometry. For wider openings, the Series 618 MAGNUM™ Sliding Doors create seamless transitions to the outdoors while offering durability and clean lines. Rounding out the glazing suite, the studio’s gable window features the Series 400 Single Glazed CentreGLAZE™ system, providing a clean, uncomplicated finish. Across the rest of the home, the Series 624 Double Glazed CentreGLAZE™ system takes the lead, chosen for its versatility and slim, unobtrusive framing. Together, they reinforce the home’s architectural clarity and give the whole space a cohesive, refined look. Paired with Series 549 Entry Doors, the glazing package supports both function and form. Tally Springs strikes a confident balance between practical family living and bold, climate-aware design — a fresh take on the modern Australian homestead.
