The Drake: A classic heritage building in Auckland transformed into prestigious office space and popular restaurants, featuring new wings built around and beneath the existing structure to preserve its historical significance.
Our background is in commercial construction, and we still do the odd commercial job – like this one. The Drake is an iconic piece of Auckland. What once was a hotel and pub, is now prestigious office space and popular restaurants. The owner wanted to expand the building, but as it’s listed as a heritage building it can’t be knocked down. So we built new wings around and underneath the existing building.
Difficult, high-quality commercial construction is still a forte.
