A heritage Queen's Anne terrace home extended his connection with history through a new chapter - A lot natural light - Natural and textured materials for a place that makes you calm and feel good with your loves. 

A stunning Queen Anne terrace home heritage that we had the pleasure of renovating for a young gay couple and their pocket dog. Their dream was to have more space, more light, and more character in their home.

We were faced with a few challenges, though. Firstly, the clients had some trust issues after a previous designer had let them down. They wanted us to redesign the project completely and make sure the extension was more sympathetic to the original heritage of the house, using traditional materials. Plus, they had different ideas about the style and project, which we had to reconcile. But after meeting with each of them individually, we were able to find a solution that satisfied them both.

The proposed modifications to Council, was approved in less than a month! So the project was finally on its way.

Our main focus was to create a light and warm environment using natural materials like Calacatta oro marble and oak timber.

We planned to replace the previous fiber cement cladding at the back with recycled brick and the aluminum windows with exposed timber windows to create a seamless continuity with the original heritage of the house. Through a re-thinking the internal space, we were able to to design a kitchen with a pantry and a dining area more adequate for hosting large gatherings.

The Queen's House turned out to be a beautiful space where the clients and their dog can entertain and enjoy their renovated home.
