The Shack is the lovingly renovated studio belonging to the director of Soul Home: Simone Mathews. The studio represented the perfect blank canvas as it was largely unused due to a lack of insulation making it too hot in the summer months and too cool during winter.
It was important for The Shack to feel light and fun, and to embody Simone’s iconic ‘holiday feeling’ that she creates within every project. To achieve this relaxed atmosphere Simone applied her 70/20/10 styling rule. She describes The Shack’s interior as 70% organic, 20% rustic and 10% Mediterranean.
The Shack features Iver’s Baltimore lever on round rose and rectangular backplate in signature brass. The flowing lines of the Baltimore pairs with the curved motifs scattered throughout the space, including the coffee table and hanging light fixture.
The signature brass finish of the door hardware contrasts against the largely white colour palette-adding depth and interest to the space. Like the rug and rattan cupboard, the tactile nature of the brass adds texture and creates complexity.

An all-white palette runs throughout the space, with neutral-coloured accents and the occasional pop of colour to balance out the tones.
For Simone, the combination of durability and Iver’s range of design-led hardware makes Iver the perfect choice for her projects.
