Complete kitchen renovation in a character home featuring heritage rimu bulkheads and stained glass windows. The existing kitchen was outdated with wasted storage space and non-functional layout.
Key Features:
- Preserved and integrated existing rimu bulkheads
- Recessed refrigerator for space optimization
- Full-height pantry with pull-out shelves
- Stone benchtops with structural support for bay window
- LED strip lighting throughout
- Functional breakfast bar replacing pass-through opening
Challenges Overcome:
- Sourcing timber to perfectly match existing rimu features
- Protecting heritage elements during construction using Zipwall dust barriers
- Navigating narrow second-floor access for stone benchtop installation
- Integrating modern functionality while maintaining character
Result: A contemporary, highly functional kitchen that seamlessly blends with the home's heritage features, maximizing storage and improving workflow while preserving architectural character.
