A holistic hotel and leisure concept with boutique values provides guests with a Yarra Valley experience like no other.

Architecture

A site not without its challenges, Hachem has created a spectacular response that pushes the boundaries and questions convention. The hotel is shaped like a horseshoe, soaring at one end and turning away from the road. The massing design is focused towards the Valley’s glorious views and wraps itself around a serene, private courtyard.

Revealing hidden pleasures at every turn, the development sits amongst spectacular lavender plantings and includes a boutique distillery, signature restaurant, conference spaces and spa. Voco has been conceived to impart a unique and memorable experience, and capture the imagination of a new generation of travellers.

Interior

The Voco brand exhibits a respect for individuality and upscale comfort. For the interiors of this landmark hotel we adopted “hidden pleasures” as the narrative, in recognition of its secluded location on the doorstep of an idyllic rural playground.

Unexpected shapes and angles are hallmarks of the interior form, with the lobby, guest rooms, entertainment spaces and even corridors featuring concealed passages and snug recesses. Both natural and artificial light are used in ways that create a sophisticated mood.

Leather, natural concrete, gold panelling and weathered timber in fixtures and furniture evoke warmth and luxury, while textures of wicker and rough-cut stone are set against polished tiling and exposed aggregate surfaces to create endless visual interest.
